.:[first handmade baby dress + new projects]:.

YES, I finally got the dress for my lil sweetheart done! I had such fun making it! I definitely need a sewing machine! I wanna sew lots of cloth for my babys :D
Today we went to the library again - second time in one week - the wether is awful at the moment -.-

AND I did find great sewing books this time! One is about sewing for your kids (perfect!), one is about winter decorations in scandinavian style (CRAZY to look up winter decoration in june, I know - but till I am really good at sewing winter definitely will be here!) and one is about sewing your own pinafores! (too cute! I fell in love with this book!)

So, as soon as I got some money left (after buying shoes ^^) I'll go to this great store in town and buy the material! I am very excited, guess this could become my new hobby ;D

The first sewing work I ever did was a patchwork pillow for my daughter and a lil stuffed heart that matches the pillow when I was pregnant with her...(weird, that I always start sewing when I am pregnant...)

We went to the libary a few days ago. Wich was an even better idea, then I first thought.
I did find very cute books to read to Ronja, and musik for her to listen to! The coolest thing about this libary though, is the "reading tent" they build up in the middle of the room. There are big stuffed animals, a couch, pillows...and a lot of other kids :D It was so fun seeing Ronja straightly walk up to the other kids without any reservation! She is just such a wonderful little girl!

Ha, and I found a couple of books for myself, too. Actually I was looking for a book about sewing - since my last project (sewing a summer dress for Ronja, out of a dress that I use to wear at church when I was eleven)

turned out to be so much fun, that I really would love to learn how to do it rig and sew beautiful dresses for Ronja. But, unfortunately, I didn't find one.

What I did find, was a book about "romantic living" Its got tons and tons of breathtaking pictures - and hey, it's affordable - actually it's all about using old stuff new and putting up flowers and big fluffy pillows every where...using your old jewelry as decorations and a lot of the furniture looked like it's basically been collected by searching through different bric-a-brac markets! I was so inspired by this book. I noticed, that I allready had quite a few elements of this romantic living in my home...and I no decided, that this is exactly what I want my home to be like. So, since we got no money lft at the moment, I just started by decorating with what I have...and added some flowers, that Ronja and I picked when we went for a walk this morning :D

I got this guardian angel from my neighbor in tucson when I was eleven...now in a few days I'll be 23 and I've been moving arround a lot...but I always took it with me! Means a lot to me!

I am thinking about sewing some curtains...there is a fantastic fabric store in town! It's always so hard to choose my meterial because every single tiny thing in that store is so beautiful!

this is our baby crib...Ronja use to sleep in there not that long ago...sigh 

I allready got the crib ready...yes, I know that my due date is in november wich is faaaar faaaar aways from now...but, I thought we could make Ronja Elina gently get used to having a sibling, by putting the baby crib into her room and putting her baby doll in there. I even change the babys diaper sometimes and show Ronja how to bath a baby...crazy I know.

This morning Ronja took the baby-doll and gave her the baby bottle (even making feeding sounds ^^ soooo cute!) and huged her and the doll even got a kiss from Ronja...so I hope this is a good sign...

Snowflake's place marker...I hope next week we'll find out Snowflakes gender! I've got a big examination on the 14th of june - so wish me luck! 

wow...this seems so long ago, she's not even one month old on this picture...I hope I still know how to handle a tiny baby like that ;P





.:[late post about our weekend-adventure]:.

Last weekend we visited Sebastian's mom. She really is a sweetheart! Mainly she watched Ronja and made sure that we could just relax - and get some sleep. Yes, believe it or not, first thing we did when we arrived on friday noon was to go upstairs and take a nap! Crazy, I know xD
Christine had prepared a room for us with two cute beds wich were neatly made. I almost felt guilty for messing it up. But I don't get that much sleep at the moment, so I really needed some.
When we got up, we went to the playground with Ronja and in the evening we made plans on how we'd spend our family weekend and had a good meal.

Saturday morning when I got up (at almost half past nine!! :D) I found a note on the breakfast table, saying that Grandma and Ronja are on their way to the baker and coffee is in the kitchen - what a perfect start to a beautiful day!
Sebastian even overslept breakfast - but nice as we are we left some rests for him to eat ;P
At about noon we got packed and started driving to towards - Chiemsee!
I've been there before when I was about nine or ten - but we only sailed once arround the Chiemsee and left the ship without visiting one of the islands.
This time we got on the ship (the shipping took no longer than 10 minutes) and got off to visit the "Fraueninsel" (Womenisland). Christine knows this island very well, since she went into the monastery on there for a week of silence.

It was overwhelming!

It's got tons of beautiful houses with the brightest and most gorgeous flowers I've ever seen, lots of green arreas with very, very old trees, one bay behind the next with those cute lil boats, artists selling theyr beautiful crafts, an amazing mountain view and last but not least the most breathtaking old little church that I've ever seen! (I'll tell you the very special story about it later in this post)

We took a walk across the whole island at first. Meanwhile Ronja fell asleep (she had a blast shipping over to the island and so much excitement costs a lot of power...) so we could enjoy the amazing sight and take a lot of beautiful pictures. My favorite place was a very old tree, that looked like it had been bend by the weight of its top and kind of grew into the sea now...it was such a quite, peaceful place and the beauty of nature caught me with full impact the moment I saw this. It made me speachless for a minute. To bad Ronja was asleep and missed that moment - but I am sure we will go there again, so she'll still get the chance to see it.

 what a wonderful place! just imagine the sun going down while sitting there...

Totally relaxed but a bit hungry we decided to look for a nice place to have some cake or in Sebastians case a Wiener Schnitzel. We chose a restaurant a little off the main roads, that wasn't to full of tourists. Just the moment we got there our princess woke up as if to say "Hey, I am hungry, too. Don't you forget me!"

So we sat on the porch and had cheesecake, Ronja had some potato salad and Sebi enjoyed his Schnitzel. It was very good - expensive though...

this was the wash-bowl in the bathroom of the restaurant - it was made of glas and had a light beneeth! So beautiful! Wish my bathroom would look that romantic... 

Our next goal was this amazing church I mentioned. Long story short, it is dedicated to a woman called Irmengard. Many, many women with unfulfilled desire for children or other "women-problems" go there to pray and receive the blessing from Irmengard - so many, that the stairhead at the entrance wich is made of stone (!) has a hollow in it!

I was so overwhelmed when I saw the altar and all the bright and colorful pictures and decorations in that curch! Not at all like the old, muggy, cold and dark churches I am use to (all catholic churches I've seen, made me feel pretty uncomfortable - except the Dom in Regensburg).

Blame it on the pregnancy or the fact, that I held my wonderful baby daughter in my arms, but I was so emotional, when I saw those walls full of thanksgiving letters and photos from women all over the world telling about theyr beautiful newborns or theyr new strenght and the cohension of theyr familys...and all kinds of tiny wonders that happend since theyr visit at this curch.

I have to admit, I got weak knees and in silence I did ask Irmengard for a blessing to make sure, Ronja Elina stays healthy and eager for knowlege and fantastic as she is and for snowflake to be healthy and that he/she gets all he/she needs during the pragnancy, allthough I have trouble eating and I don't get as much time for resting and trying to get in contact with snowflake as I should...and we lighted up a candle for our little family.

After this emotionally experience, we took an almost silent walk across the graveyard to the curch and then decided to take the next ship back to onshore, where we had some icecream and then started home.

On the way back, Ronja fell asleep (we weren't that lucky on the way to the Chiemsee - she was a little fretful)

We arrived early evening so the sun was still shining and we got to spend some time in the backyard before dinner. It was such a wonderful, exciting, sunny, emotional...day. I almost didn't want to let it end, but beeing outside the whole day and walking arround made me pretty tired, so we watched some TV and finally went to bed.

This sure was one of the highlights of our family trips!

hihi...the dugs didn't mind us beeing there at all!
